Change

"Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future" John F. Kennedy

I would like to first say that I have almost no knowledge of the man who said those words, I only know that I have a deep understanding of what he meant when he said them. The first sentence states that change is a law of life, much like "What goes up, must come down" or any other one of Newton's Laws. It must happen in order for mankind to remain existent. Change is critical, even though we are instilled with a natural objection to its ways. Change is to make something different than what it would be if left alone. Where do you think we would be today if nothing had changed since the beginning of time, or even just since the 1800s? I can tell you, we would be up a creek without a paddle. The next part of the quote says that those who look to the past or present are sure to miss the future. It means that you cannot live in the past, you must embrace change and plan ahead. If you do not accept the world as it changes, it will keep going and leave you behind. This quote is personal to me because my family is very fearful of change and extremely skeptical of anything new to them. It doesn't often effects our lives for the better. I guess all I'm really saying is don't get left behind. Help mankind move forward.
